Hello, and welcome to the all new Four Daisies Studio! I have been thinking about changing my business name for a little while now, and finally it’s happened. Previously, I used my own name as Meredith Bedford Photography but I was never really completely set on that.
I’ve always liked the idea of a business name separate from my own, but after some on and off thinking about it, nothing ever really came to me. So this time, I just decided I was going to change it and I was going to think until I got something. And wow, is that HARD WORK! Haha! Initially, I thought I would just brainstorm for awhile until something stuck. But as it turns out, there’s a lot more boxes to tick than that. In the end, the first thing I did when I came up with something I liked would be to go to the Australian business register website and check if it was already registered (it usually was). If by some miracle it wasn’t, I would then ask a few people to gather initial reactions. It wasn’t that I cared so much about what other people think, but more so checking if it sparks any bad reactions or confusion.
Eventually, I came up with Four Daisies! Which stuck, ticked all the boxes and seemed to be received positively by most. Dealing with frustration is not one of my strong points, so to have it finally sorted was a relief and then some!
The question I thought I’d get asked the most, but have only been asked maybe twice, is… “why four?” It’s a good thing no-one is really asking too, because I have no real reason! I just like the number four. It’s my favourite number. What about, “why daisies?” I feel like daisies are a cheerful little flower, and I wanted something that represented my work which is vibrant, cheerful and natural. I had originally thought of roses, but I feel like daisies are a little fresher and younger. I don’t think I even saw a daisy to trigger it, it just popped into my head while sitting on the back porch cuddling the neighbour’s friendly cat!
I am still Melbourne based, and cover weddings all over Melbourne, Yarra Valley, Dandenong Ranges and Mornington Peninsula.
So there you have it! Four Daisies is now in existence, and I couldn’t be happier about it! The name has really settled in for me, and I love it. I hope you do too!
